Please assist your child with today's HW. Your child must chose 1 of 3 options below. Feel free to read passage together and discuss questions together. You may contact me with questions at: rpadilla@schools.nyc.gov
Topic: How does being marginalized affect people?
Option 1: Write a freestyle response essay where you answer the
following questions: What does being marginalized mean? What is a margin? What
are some real life examples of people being marginalized? How are George and Lennie
marginalized? How can they or other people do not to be marginalized?
Option 2:
On a sheet of paper draw a line from the top to the bottom right
down the middle like this:

On one side write words or draw examples of what it means to
be marginalized and what is the opposite. One each side mention one way George and Lennie is marginalized
and one example that shows how Curly is not.
Option 3:
Write a poem or song lyrics about what being Marginalized. Use vocabulary words learned in class for
your song/poem. Use the names of characters in the novel as examples of people
who are and are not marginalized. Write about how this affects their lives.
