This week we will read and compare parts of the novel Esperanza Rising to Persepolis. We will talk about how the two books are similar and different and how.

Esperanza Rising is a riches-to-rags story. The heroine starts out happy and wealthy, but she eventually must adjust to a much less comfortable way of life. You probably know of many rags-to-riches stories, such as the story of Cinderella.
