HW Mr. Padilla 7.22.16

Homework: Parents and Guardians, please assist your child with today’s homework.
Today we discussed the themes of Love and Hate in Romeo and Juliet and West Side Story. We talked about how both feelings are very powerful and how sometimes one feeling overpowers the other. \

Option 1: Base response on today’s reading, discussion, personal experience and previous knowledge.
Make a list of some examples of how love overpowers hate or hate overpowers love.  After you make your list answer the question: What feeling is more powerful: love or hate? Explain why. Use examples from the readings, today’s lesson and your own experience or knowledge.

Option 2:  Base response on today’s reading and discussion.
Part A.  Place the following events in order. What happened 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.
Tybalt and Romeo fought.
Juliet forgives Romeo.
Tybalt fell.
Tybalt hates Romeo.

Part B: Answer question related to today’s lesson.
1.       What did Tony do that made Maria sad?
2.       Did Maria forgive Tony? Explain.

Option 3: Base response on what you have read and learned about Romeo and Juliet and West Side Story so far. 
Give one example of how love overcomes hate and one example of how hate overcomes love.  Add as many details as you can. You may draw the scenes and explain your drawing if you want to.
